The Health and Social Care Level 2 course is ideal for anyone wishing to work in a wide range of roles in the health and social care sector. There is currently a huge shortage of trained professionals working in the UK health and social care sector and care providers always on the lookout for fresh faces. This health and social care course will help you break into the market as a well-trained individual. You will explore various topics relating to health and social care, including health and safety, developing relationships with colleagues and clients, health care legislation and much more. This diploma course will also act as a stepping stone for you to continue on learning by taking up further courses including Level 3, 4 and 5 Diplomas.
Course Content
The award is designed to develop the students’ ability to:
- Identify students’ needs, backgrounds and aspirations
- Demonstrate in their planning, delivery and evaluation a regard for equal opportunities and health and safety legislation
- Develop their skills in devising programmes and schemes of work
- Develop their key skills
- Design and apply appropriate means of assessing their own learners
Additional home study is required.
Homework is set each week and should take one to two hours to complete.

Who is this course for?
We designed this course mainly for two types of individuals, the ones who want to start their career in health and social care and the ones who are already professionals in the UK Care Sector.
The first group will solely need this course for their complete understanding and step by step guide to becoming a professional carer. However, the second group can enrich their status as a well-trained individual in the UK Care Sector.
Entry Requirements
This is a work-based course that requires workplace assessment. This can be work carried out on a part-time, full-time, paid or voluntary basis.

Method of Assessment
There is no formal examination. Students must complete three written assignments and one Micro teach session, which can be submitted as a recorded video. All assignments must be submitted within three months of course commencement. There is an additional charge of £199 for your assessments and certificate, which is not payable until you submit your assessments.
Certification
After successful submission of your assessment, you will receive Health and Social Care Level 2 certificate from nationally recognised awarding body Edexcel or Highfield Qualifications which are Ofqual regulated.
