This course provides a broad grounding in horticulture with a wide range of skills and background knowledge, with an emphasis on practical knowledge. You will learn a wide range of technical skills, including completing a project in the land-based sector and business management in the land-based sector. Moreover, you will gain an understanding of the principles of plant science and the principles of soil science.

Through this course, you’ll develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to work in horticulture occupations, such as gardener and flower care roles, and you will be well-prepared for a variety of horticulture courses to further enhance your career. With this course, you’ll be able to take your skills and knowledge from a centre-based environment and progress within the horticulture industry or continue to further learning and/or training. You’ll develop underpinning knowledge while practising skills that could be applied within employment in the horticulture sector.
