Junior or recently qualified Small Animal Hydrotherapists can earn anything between £9.00-£14.00 per hour which is around £20,000 per annum. However, an experienced Hydrotherapist with more than one qualification or specialism can earn up to £65,000 per annum.
Consultant Physiotherapists, Advanced Clinical Practitioners (Band 8a/8b+), and specialized private locums earn the highest salaries, often exceeding £70,000–£100,000+ annually in the UK, particularly in sports, orthopaedics, or private practice. High-paying roles involve specialized skills, such as ultrasound-guided injections, or senior leadership positions.

A standard human hydrotherapy session typically lasts between 20 and 30 minutes in the pool, although total time on-site, including changing and showering, may be up to an hour. The sessions are conducted in warm water (32–36°C) and are guided by a physiotherapist.
